M.Sc. Agriculture (2 years) is a post-graduate programme that enhance a learner level for agricultural development and related to scientific innovation, from Animal Husbandry to Plant Pathology being a vast domain. Not only one can explore courses that can help you establish a career in research but you can also specialize in modules dealing with management and marketing. Some specialization courses for PG are Agronomy, Horticulture, Agroforestry, Plant pathology and Biotechnology.

Future Prospects

After post-graduation, one so far Ph.D. or can take ARS (Agriculture Research Service) Examination. Master’s degree holders can attempt UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) to get JRF scholarships (ICAR JRF is also an option), or become eligible for Assistant Professor. Besides higher studies, government jobs after BSc Agriculture are also viable options. Beginning with the banking sector – there are special posts for AO, AAO, Field Officers, SO. One can go for exams like IBPS, NABARD, and jobs for BSc Agriculture.
